Today we started on our first batch of @bandjmachinery blades for one of our paint roller customers. Blades get blanked out on our @flowwaterjetofficial to avoid a Heat Affected Zone left behind by lasers and plasmas. Then to the @haas_automation CNC mill, heat treated (in house), and finished on the grinder. Very excited to show you how these little guys turn out! We hope everyone out there grinding at his/her trade has had a blessed 2023. While I sit here on this chilly Saturday morning watching one of our @flowwaterjetofficial Mach200s do its thing it’s hard to believe year 2 is in the books. The days are short and the years shorter. 🥵 As 2024 approaches I pray that American manufacturing has its best year yet. “This new generation doesn’t know how to work” The list goes on… Wanted to take a minute to share what a blessing this young man has been. This past Spring I got a phone call from a former client whom I call a friend. He has a son in high school searching for a vocation and wondered if we might have room for him over the summer. The instructions were “teach him something and make him get dirty.” To which we obliged! Let me say this kid impressed me from day 1! • He arrived ON TIME! EVERY TIME! • He was EAGER to work NO MATTER the task. • When asked if we had worked him hard enough that day he often responded with only the whites of his eyes and teeth showing through the dirt and welding soot, “I’ve been way more tired/dirty than this before!” • He presented himself in a manner that we even turned him loose for deliveries where he interacted with clients. The summer went by so fast and there hasn’t been a week go by that I haven’t said out loud…”I sure wish Cutworm was here!” (He got a nickname for the number of knives he carries) I’m so proud of this young man and I hope he learned more than just bad language and habits during his time with us. I wish him the absolute very best in whatever career(s) he chooses. Someone out there is going to get a darn good employee one day! If we are lucky it’ll be us 🤞🏽 “You’ve come far pilgrim. This was a fun one! We are honored to have been asked by United Way of Northwest Georgia to build the #LittleFreeLibraries Take a look around Dalton and Northwest GA for the newest editions. Such a great way to share books and other learning materials with our community. As the parent of a young child with #dyslexia we know the importance of getting words in front of our children, especially during summer months. We hope that many people enjoy these Little Free Libraries for years to come!
